Linda Guerrera

As long as I can remember, I wanted to be behind the mic. I grew up in a strict Italian family in Yonkers, NY, not far from New York City. Radio was always my friend. I spent many nights in my room while my friends were hanging out somewhere together. It was the New York FM dial that kept me company. Not just the music, but those DJs. They were stuck in that room with me too. Wow! How cool was that? There they were telling me about the new song on the air, or some juicy gossip or the weather that night and all the while they had a smile in their voice. They were so happy to be stuck there with me and making me feel like it wasn't so bad to be home either.

Is it any wonder why I chose to go on to major in Radio and Television in college? I got my first job on-the-air in Westchester County, New York and there was no turning back. As much as I loved being a live jock, it was always those commercials that intrigued me. I looked at every little 60 second spot as a work of art. Something that I could create with just the bullet points from a radio salesman. Winning a New York State Broadcasters Award for Outstanding Commercial was the cherry on the best sundae in the world.

We're all born with a dreams and passions, I feel so blessed that I am able to do what I do. Thank you so much for reading this. I hope that you will listen to a few of my demos.
